The Application Process

Those who applied for the Spring 2024 Design Writing Groups be notified of their acceptance in early December.

Writing groups of approximately five participants will be devised based on applicants’ projects and goals. Each group will have a participant who serves as the designated Coordinator, responsible for light administrative work, including scheduling meetings; maintaining group accountability goals; and communicating with the Design Writing Group program directors to provide updates on group progress and ongoing feedback on the program. Writing Space will recognize the Coordinators on its website.

There is no fee to apply to the Spring 2024 Design Writing Group program, however there is a $125 fee to participate. (The fee may be reduced or waived should it be prohibitive.) Writing Space will provide official letters of acceptance to allow attendees to request funding from their institutions. For an additional fee, participants will also have direct access to Writing Space resources including project development guidance and editing help.

 

To Apply

All applicants are required to provide: 

  • a CV

  • a 200-300 word description of the project they intend to work on in the writing group and how far along they are in it

  • a 200-300 word description of why they want to participate in a writing group and what they hope to get out of it
